Jae Ahn

Jae Wan Ahn (he/him) is the Director of Policy at Paragon. He is also the AI Fellow for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Program (COPA-STEP) currently serving in the Joint State Government Commission (JSGC), a bicameral, bipartisan research agency of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. He holds a sociology PhD from the University of Chicago, where he specialized in urban political economy, fiscal policy, and socioeconomic outcomes of U.S. cities.

Previously, Jae served as a Paragon Project Lead for Fall 2024 and led a team of Fellows researching the capacities and use of supercomputers operated by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Jae is passionate about science communication and is an active member of the National Science Policy Network (NSPN), a professional association dedicated to improving communication skills of early-career scientists. Outside work, Jae's interests include gaming (console and board), writing, and binge-watching period dramas.
