Avery Cheng

Avery Cheng (she/her) currently serves as the Grant Coordinator for the Paragon Policy Fellowship. She is a junior at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, where she studies Political Science. As a Spring 2025 Fellow, Avery supported the City of Albuquerque’s interdepartmental working group in developing best practices for municipal AI governance. In her current role, she surfaces grant opportunities and shapes funding proposals.

Outside of Paragon, Avery enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, and creative writing. Her professional interests include environmental policy, law, and data science.
